When my kids graduated from baby rice cereal and oatmeal, we fed them out of the jar. I didn’t know about pureeing fresh fruits and vegetables. Each time I pulled out a green jar, one of my kids new instantly what that was and he’d start turning his head before I could even get it ready.
Eventually, I started tricking him by showing him the apple sauce or some other baby dessert with one spoon and with the other spoon snuck the greens when his mouth went to open wide for what he thought was going to be delicious. He caught on and eventually, that ended!
Next, I tried to mix dessert in with some of the greens and that seemed to work well. But with that said, I wish that I was creative enough to come up with this cookbook: Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food.
I discovered this book when my sister-in-law from Vietnam asked me to pick it up and send it to her. She was desperate to help her kids eat healthier. I know many parents who struggle with meal time and I want to help, so I picked up an extra copy to Give Away on my blog!
Deceptively Delicious shares creative ways to sneak in foods that are healthy for your kids but often times refused, making meal time a challenge. And it’s not just for picky babies! There are a lot of great recipes and ideas for school lunches, and snacks for the older ones!
You can help them to acquire a taste for foods that are healthier for them, hence they’ll live healthier and happier as they get older and so will you! There is enough stress that we face everyday, and I think this is a great resource to help parents be free from the meal time headaches!
