Often times we think that we must have HUGE FAITH in order move an obstacle or a mountain in our life. We all have obstacles to overcome and mountains to melt and it can be discouraging to think that our itty-bitty faith won’t do any good.
Years ago, a guest Pastor visited our church and gave everyone a tiny bottle filled with itty-bitty mustard seeds as he shared a simple truth about having mustard seed faith.
I kept that little jar in a corner on my kitchen counter where I could see it for many years as a reminder whenever I faced an obstacle, a mountain or giant, that I don’t need to muster up this HUGE amount of faith to overcome it.
This morning I was thinking about some obstacles and right away, that thought entered my mind, “it’s going to take a lot of faith.”
Thankfully, I was reminded of Matthew 17:20: “If you had FAITH even as small as a mustard seed… Nothing could be impossible.”
The MESSAGE translations encouraged me even more; “ if you had a mere kernel of FAITH, a poppy seed…There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.”
See, you don’t Need HUGE Faith! As you can see in the photo, mustard seeds are itty-bitty. And poppy seeds, even tinier!
Remember….
Mustard Seed. Poppy Seed. And…nothing is impossible!
