This sleek-chic iphone 4s arrived at my door steps three days after Apple released it to the public and I will confess…”LOVE at first sight.”
I’ve been a loyal Blackberry user for years and really had no desire for the iPhone when it first launched in 2007.
My interest in the the iPhone peaked only after owning an iPad 1 and becoming addicted to the many cool Apps that unfortunately is not compatible with Blackberry.
I’ve come to the conclusion that even mobile lives have seasons and it was time to say good by to Blackberry.
Thankfully, Sprint is now also an iPhone distributor, otherwise I would have had to do a double dump and move over to Verizon (double the guilt).
My photography hobby has become a passion and iPhone photo apps are outstanding. Truth be told, it’s the real reason why I wanted this new phone.
My digital girlfriends Nancy Loo and MJ Tam introduced me to instagram and photogram, both fun and unique photo sharing apps.
But the only way for me to utilize these apps was to:
1. take a photo with my Blackberry
2. email to myself
3. open the photo on my iPad
4. upload it to instagram or photogram
Hello? Who has time for all these steps? It was too much work; therefore, I barely used the apps.
Now that I have this hot new toy with a 8MP camera (DSLR quality), I think I may be traveling a little bit lighter.
The images are incredible and I love the ability to edit pictures right from the iPhone.
I was just introduced to another awesome photo app, Streamzoo by Justin Goldsborough (Twitter pal), which I absolutely LOVE and have been spending a lot of time on.
You’ll find some breath taking photos taken with the iPhone and Android. It’s hard to believe a mobile device could deliver such spectacular quality.
The options to be creative using Streamzoo are endless; from filters, borders to adjusting lighting and hues.
When you click to view the photo, it will also share what device was used and how the photographer achieved the look and feel of the image.
I wasn’t that impressed with my first couple of photos for having a 8MP camera but then I realized that I had left the plastic film over the lens (See photo of bird bath taken with plastic over lens).
Don’t ask. Let’s say, I was a little excited; and in between multi-tasking and finding time to play with this new gadget, I missed a minor detail.
Once the plastic came off…I could see why this iPhone 4s camera is all the rave.
Not that I have time for another site but I decided to start a Tumblr –Iphotonista for all of my iPhone 4s Photography.
Tumblr is a microblogging site that is fast growing and the least to maintain, in my opinion.
I can upload my photos strait from Streamzoo right onto Tumblr in seconds without ever having to log on from my desktop.
Photography with the Iphone 4s is my newest addiction…
Hop on over to Tumblr at Iphotonista and check it out.
Disclosure: I was not compensated to mention any of the products or services above. The opinions in this post are purely my own.

Justin,
I am hearing lots of good things about Android too. As a matter of fact, My Sprint gal that helped me with my phone said she preferred Android for many reasons. My husband loves his Android and I know people who went from Iphone to Android. Either one you decide–you can’t go wrong. But most importantly, you can now use Streamzoo (your client app
To answer your question. Whenever I’m out and about and see something intriguing or worth taking, I’ll snap away
. It could be multiple times a day depending on where I am and what I’m doing.
So glad you shared Streamzoo with me–I can’t wait to see your photos too!
@DuongSheahan
Nice work on the photos, Duong! Glad you are enjoying Streamzoo (client). I am on the wait list for an iPhone 4S and am trying to decide whether to get it or an Android phone (Samsung Epic Touch). One of the main reasons I am so excited to switch is to upgrade my photo skills
. My Blackberry just does not take very good pictures at all. And I can’t use Streamzoo on it, so I am always borrowing my wife’s phone to do so.
The iphonography and andoridography trends are very interesting to watch and I think will continue to grow because the cameras — and video cameras for that matter — on these new devices are so good. I’ll be following your photos to see what else you come up with. And when I get my new device, I’ll send some your way. How often do you find yourself taking photos now, btw? Just curious.
Cheers,
Justin
