I had no idea that bread could be flourless until I searched for alternatives to healthier grains with higher fiber and nutritional content.
This was nearly ten years ago after my son was dealing with digestive issues that landed him in the emergency room with a painful procedure.
Not only was my little guy dealing with digestive problems, add asthma symptoms and peanut allergies; not quite the way to start his life journey.
Reading ingredient labels became second nature by the age of four and rarely would he accept food or snacks handed to him from those outside of his family.
His pre-school teacher commented one day when I picked him up, “I don’t know any kid in my class that has ever refused cookies and cupcakes.”
Having already started my quest to live healthier, I was on a greater mission now to see that my children walk in divine health.
It was the combination of my son’s sudden illness that catapulted my health journey to another level and hence became a passion.
As the famous philosopher Hippocrates once said, “Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
I believe that our food can result in a harvest of illness or wellness and that’s where the power to choose what we feed our bodies lies.
In order to help restore his digestive track, I removed all refined and processed flour, breads and foods from his diet among many other things that were unhealthy (ei: fast food) and opted for grains with higher fiber content.
I began shopping for 100% whole grain and that’s when I discovered flourless bread (sprouted grains) made with organic ingredients, free from yeast, salt, sweeteners or anything artificial added.
The picking was slim for flourless bread; but today, I’m seeing more options to choose from.
Manna Organics sent a variety of their 100% sprouted breads that I’ve been nibbling on all week.
Manna Organics is a family owned and operated bakery in the Chicagoland area that makes Manna Bread® by hand in small batches.
Manna Organics Sprouted Manna Bread® is a unique, cake-like sprouted bread, made of all-organic and Kosher Parve certified ingredients, and comes in nine varieties.
In ancient Biblical times, Manna was sent from heaven to the Israelites which sustained them as they wondered in the wilderness for 40 years.
Today, these sprouted grains are still being made using the old biblical method of creating cake-like bread that provides the highest and healthiest nutrients, vitamins, protein and fiber.
The Fruit and Nut Manna Bread that I enjoyed this morning contains: Organic Sprouted Wheat Kernels, Filtered Water, Organic Raisins, Organic Dates, Organic Almonds, Organic Cashews, Organic Hazelnuts, Organic Cinnamon, and Organic Nutmeg.
My other favorite from the selection sent is Carrot Raisin: Sprouted wheat kernels, filtered water, carrots, raisins, certified organic.
It’s delicious served warm with butter or fig jelly spread.
You can find Manna Organics bread at health foods stores across the US and Canada; however, orders can also be made on line.
I’m hosting this giveaway to give 1 winner a chance to try Manna Bread® FREE.
