First of all, I was so impressed by how we were greeted upon arriving at The Lobby at The Peninsula Chicago. Earlier in the week, I responded to a post on The Peninsula’s Facebook page letting them know that I was excited to have lunch there with my friend Barb Pruitt visiting from Arizona. Barb sent them a tweet expressing how thrilled she was to dine there as well.
After being seated at our table, a couple of lovely little gift boxes were delivered by their PR and Communications team member. As you can see, each box was personally tailored to either a Facebook comment or a tweet.
We were so impressed by their use of Social Media…or as they say, “blown away!” How cool is that?!
My friend Barb is also health conscious and we were delighted to have the opportunity to try The Lobby’s Vegan, Gluten Free & Natural menu, starting with the Jumbo Vegetable Rolls wrapped in seasonal vegetables and Wasabi, presented beautifully.
We both love fish and the Wild Salmon over brown rice garnished with zucchini, celery, steamed carrots, & braised radish was simply out of this world. The lunch portion was just right.
Of course, eating healthy while dining out is a fabulous option but I believe in allowing a little room to indulge in something sweet and guiltless (the 80/20 rule).
It was difficult to choose among the dessert selection but the Chocolate Mousse with vanilla ice cream and caramel dipped popcorn was a unique combo and the perfect wrap up to a spectacular lunch.
We also had the privilege of meeting Executive Sous Chef Anthony Coriell who kindly took a break to greet us and shared a little about the special items on the menu.
I love showing off some of my favorite Chicago spots. The Lobby is located in The Peninsula Hotel just steps from The Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue). Barb and I had such a fun day in the city , followed by a lovely time winding down in The Lobby’s elegant ambiance, delicious food and live music (Violinists) from the balcony.
It was perfect.
P. S. Another wonderful time spent at The Lobby was with my Chicagonista LIVE! girlfriends for Afternoon Tea. (check out my post to learn more).
Disclosure: A special thanks to The Lobby at The Peninsula Chicago for having us for lunch.
