Chicago is undoubtedly known for boasting the most incredible architecture. Having lived in the Chicagoland area for over 20 years, I’m still fascinated by the city’s magnificent skyline.
There are so many things to see and do in this great city, but if you’re a tourist and want to see the best of Chicago, the Architecture Tour is a must.
There are various boat tours departing several times daily right at the beginning of the Magnificent Mile (Wrigley building); however, I’d recommend getting tickets in advance.
Nothing is more exciting than scoring a couple of GROUPON deals at half price for the Wendella Boat Tour ($18/ea); but I do regret not buying additional tickets!
It was a perfectly gorgeous day in the city for the Architecture tour with girlfriend Barb Pruitt aka, host and founder of InspireTV, visiting from Arizona.
The tour was a little over an hour with a well trained tour guide, knowledgeable about Chicago’s iconic buildings and its history . We were in awe of the breathtaking skyscrapers as we cruised down the Chicago River, snapping away with our mobile devices.
The photos in this post were taken from my iPhone; and in addition, using my fave photo app Camera Plus Pro to edit brightness, contrast or crop if necessary.
By the way…after our Architecture tour, we had a delicious lunch in at The Lobby at the Peninsula hotel just a short walk away. You can check out our experience at The Lobby, it’s definitely another Best of Chicago.
What a fabulous day with a dear friend.
Will you be visiting Chicago soon? What are you looking forward to seeing and doing? I’d love to hear from you!
